9 months down, 3 to go

I know I say this every time but man are the months going by fast! Mackenzie is getting over her ear infection and is sleeping much better. She did a few new things this week! She is saying "ah duh" (all done) when she is done eating or playing, and this morning she saw Matt's dad and got so excited and proceeded to say "Papa!" WHOA! She is waving now also. Mackenzie is starting to drink out of a sippy cup although she doesn't care for apple or pear juice. She is also eating cheerios and rice crackers all by herself, with supervision of course. She says "num num" when she wants a bite of our food too and she is enjoying pancakes! Not quite walking yet except with the help of our fingers or the furniture. Today we had a play date with my friend Genesee and her daughters Brooklyn and Faith. Faith is just a few days younger than Mackenzie. I took some cute pictures of Mackenzie and Faith playing together. We'll have her 9 month well baby visit in the next week or so and I'll post another update then. Thankfully she doesn't need any shots at that visit.

Cause of the sleepless nights?

Well I decided to take Mac to the doctor today as she has been sick for the last few days coughing really hard. I did talk to a nurse at the pediatricians office yesterday who gave us some advice like warm watered down apple juice before bed rather than formula to help thin out the secretions, elevating the head of her crib. She also reassured me that the rattling that I can hear and feel when my hand is on her back is an upper airway illness so not as bad. She said to bring her in if she developed a fever for 3 days. Well after that phone call, Mac stopped wanting to eat. She would take a few bites of food and a few sips of juice or formula. She was up almost every hour last night just miserable. Then this morning her eyes were smothered in green goop. Still no fever though and she was still not eating during the day while with Grammy and Papa. So, I called the doctor who saw her just a couple of hours later. I mentioned that she has NOT been tugging at her ears but rather rubbing the side of her head above her right ear. As soon as the doctor looked she said it was most definitely an ear infection. MY POOR LITTLE GIRL!! No wonder she hasn't been sleeping well! Also, she has an eye infection. Man! She is on antibiotics now and will hopefully be better soon. Maybe we will all get some sleep in the next few nights. Here is the good news, she is up to 16lbs!!!! And, she likes to use the sippy cup now! Just over 3 months and our girl will be a year old! Yikes!!!!

So blessed

What an amazing girl we have. Mackenzie got her last 6 month shot today (no more until 12 months, yahoo!) and only made a little peep. Hard to believe she's been such a happy girl since! She is so funny! I just can't believe that she is ours and I am amazed every night when I look at her sleeping so peacefully. There are nights where she wakes up more than I would like and I am so tired, but the moment I hold her in my arms and she snuggles up to me, my frustration immediately goes away. I can not imagine my life without this little girl. Every single moment is a blessing and I cherish every one of them. I don't want her to grow up! She is such a happy little girl and you can see her happiness in every one of her pictures. She smiles at everyone, and it's this cute little scrunched up nose smile so she can show off her teeth. She is so awesome.

A few more

Let's hope my laptop doesn't get another virus so I don't bombard you guys with pictures again!

More pictures!

8 months old & Christmas pictures!

Wow, 8 months has flown by! Our little baby is turning into a little "lady" way too fast! She has been crawling for about a month now, has 4 teeth with 2 more coming in, and she is babbling like there is no tomorrow. Her favorite thing to do is smile and show off her teeth. She scrunches up her nose while doing it. A new thing she is doing is pulling herself up. She will also walk while holding onto our fingers, that is her preferred way of moving. She hates it when you stop but boy that takes a toll on your back.
What a year 2007 was! We were very surprised with a pregnancy and very blessed with a healthy baby girl. Mackenzie is so amazing and is learning something new every day. One of her other favorite things to do is to walk by the den to see daddy and then give him a cheesy grin. Even if he's not in there when we walk by it, she will do it. It's so funny. Here are some pictures from the last few weeks, Christmas ones included. More to follow.
